This brief report compares the Hispanic, White, Black and Asian population, voting age population (VAP) and citizen VAP in the city of Houston and Harris County population, excluding Houston.
The objective of the report is to review 2000 and 2010 U.S. Census data sets and assess the demographic changes in the City of Houston (CoH) and Harris County, excluding the CoH. It is important for the media, language minority groups as well as voter advocates to be familiar with demographic characteristics to have a yardstick to measure the pace of the possible change in the political landscape.
